| Barbara Watson. After many years as a Maths teacher, Barbara moved into administration and now is the co-ordinator for the Lairg Learning Centre and Adult Basic Education (Sutherland). Although her work is mainly organisational and developmental, she supports students in the first stages of their studies and tutors in Maths at an intermediate level. She is also a volunteer with the British Red Cross which takes her out and about during the summer, rain or shine! She like to wind down in the evening walking her lively Springer Spaniel. . . Liz Treacher Liz is the ICT tutor at the Lairg Learning Centre. She supports students doing on-line and distance learning courses. Liz also teaches literacy using computing, creative writing and photography. Liz is married with two teenagers, she loves taking photographs and drinking good coffee. . Lucy Hawkins After graduating from University with a Ba(Hons) in Fine Art, Lucy travelled and worked her way around the world before studying for her TEFL in Thailand and teaching there for two years. She then spent a year teaching English in Barcelona before coming to the Highlands where she has worked as an ESOL tutor for the Lairg Learning Centre and the North Highland College as well as tutoring for Higher English and Adult Basic Education. Lucy is a practising artist and enjoys drawing and making art work when family and work commitments allow her. . Cara Cameron After leaving school Cara has had a vast range of work and travel experiences, including TEFL and computing. At the age of 27 she decided it was time to go back to college, and graduated 5 years later from SAC with a post graduate diploma in Organic Farming. As well a being a co-ordinator/tutor at Lairg Learning Centre Cara is also active in helping to promote Crofting. Cara enjoys teaching ECDL to all of her brave students and working with the rest of the LLC team. Cara's passion outside of LLC is her young Welsh Cob who manages to take up far too much of her time. |
