Schools out, but not for us.
Highland children finished their term on July 4th and headed off for six weeks of summer fun! Meanwhile in The School House the team are beavering away at the August – Winter 2019 prospectus, planning autumnal and Christmas classes. Catering to every need we’re brainstorming classes and workshops to keep our community engaged and happy throughout the winter months, from Beginner’s Sewing and Artisan Aprons, Fruits of the Forage workshops to woodwork classes where students can learn how to use recycled wood into storage boxes, key racks and chopping boards. Let’s not forget cookery, our popular workshops where James McMahon Head Chef of The Pier in Lairg, passes on his top Chef secrets. Fact of the day is about pumpkins! 100,000 are set to be purchased in Scotland in the run up to October 31st, with a truly frightening two thirds being thrown away rather than eaten. Enter James, who has just arranged a Pumpkin Recipes workshop for Halloween! With that spooky time of year catered for we’re now looking at Christmas … when it’s July!
