Train the Trainer

14th July 2019

Our Bookings Administrator is off the Keep Scotland Beautiful HQ where she will take part in a two-day training course, learning how to teach people about carbon literacy.

To support our green agenda, she is travelling in Electric Vehicle (van) This is a bit of an undertaking, given her family’s EV has a range of 70 miles and the journey is just over 200 miles.  If it rains the range is even less, but leaving ‘range’ anxiety at home, the intrepid traveler is prepared, with a carefully plotted route with stop-offs at charging points mapped out and newly download apps (Zap Map) to keep track of which EV points are off line!

Teaching people in the community about carbon literacy is something that we’re passionate about and something we embed in all our classes and workshops. Exactly how bad are bananas, do we do it less or do we do it more. Training will reveal all!

Members of our staff took part in similar training last year.    Lairg Learning Centre Chair Person Irene Warner-Mackintosh, centre Manager Jane Dixon and Ryan, resident computer expert with their certificates.
