Climate Challenge Fund Project

Lairg & District Learning Centre have been awarded a grant of £216,551 from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.

The ‘Train to Gain’ project will help the community reduce carbon emissions through learning how to reduce, reuse and recycle wood, textiles and other waste products. The project will also work to increase locally grown produce at selected primary schools and help the community to decrease food waste. A range of events and training opportunities for individuals, groups and schools will help to raise awareness of climate change in communities across Sutherland, Caithness and northwest Ross-shire.
