L.L.C meets the L.A.B A youth group at the Lairg Learning Centre joined forces with the BBC’s L.A.B to produce a couple of short animated movies. As part of the L.A.B’s Get Moving workshop, our budding filmmakers learnt how to build a set, write a story board, set a camera, and operate special "stop frame" animation software. The workshop culminated in October ’10 with a visit to BBC’s Pacific Quay studio in Glasgow to see the final results put together, which we present below. Getting Creative Creative Identities is a programme of arts and learning activities open to young people who want to tell meaningful and relevant stories about their life in Scotland. These stories are told through image, video, music or text, and we got involved during the Gaelic and shinty week in August ’10. Our youth group were taught Gaelic, shinty skills, Capoeira, music, singing, art, 3D animation, sound production, film making and editing. All of those skills are evident in this finished film, Blàr nan Caman, The Battle of the Camans. Blàr nan Caman
