Room Hire

We offer a friendly, well-equipped environment for all sorts of individual and group learning. The facilities include:

Room One

A flexible learning space that can be used for classes, discussion and meetings. It features state-of-the-art video-conferencing facilities, on a 50-inch plasma display, which is also an interactive whiteboard. Boardroom style layout will accommodate up to twelve delegates; theatre style will accommodate fifteen. A large whiteboard, flip chart and wireless broadband are available.

I.T. Suite

A training suite equipped with six workstations, each station fitted with a Windows 10 PC with software, such as Microsoft Office, and internet access. It also features a PC with wall-mounted screen and a flip chart.

The Cabin

Located in our grounds, this Scandinavian log cabin is perfect for arts and crafts, with great light. It is fitted out with four woodworking stations, which pack away, making it suitable for other uses, such as outdoor classes and meetings.

IT Suite: Each workstation is fitted with a Windows 8 PC, and internet access

We run a wide range of online business training, with an online certificated test, these include:

Emergency Aid in the Workplace

A one day, certificated course to update or improve your First Aid knowledge. The certification is valid for 3 years in the workplace.

Food and Hygiene

Achieve your Food and hygiene certificate on this course, which will cover the basic requirements needed for working in a commercial kitchen or food environment. It is valid for 3 years from certification.

Award for Personal license for alcohol holders

This one day course will teach you all you need to know to obtain your personal license. There is an exam at the end of the day, which once passed will let you serve alcohol for 5 years. (You will need to apply to the council for your license, with fee)

Emergency First Aid online

Gain the knowledge and understanding to treat a range of first aid accidents. Suitable for home or the workplace. If you prefer to take a tutor led class please get in touch as we run courses several times a year based on demand.

Food Safety Level 2

Certified training for food workers, to ensure that the food they provide and handle is safe for the customers to eat, and that they understand the relevant legislation.

Fire Safety Awareness

This course is designed to give the learner a basic knowledge and understanding of fire safety awareness in the workplace.

COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)

Learn about the COSHH Regulations (2002), which protect people against risks to their health when dealing with, or being exposed to, hazardous substances.

Health and Safety

Are your employees aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999? Under Health and Safety Legislation, employers are required to provide appropriate Health and Safety training for themselves and/or their employees. This course will ensure that you and your employees comply with legislation and raise awareness of the need to provide a healthy, safe working environment ensuring the welfare of everyone.

Mental Health Awareness

The Mental Health act 1983 sets out the criteria that must be met before compulsory measures can be taken with people suffering from mental health problems. Candidates will gain the understanding of how to recognise the symptoms of mental disorders and how to understand that people experiencing possible mental disorders require appropriate services.

Dementia Awareness

This course is designed to develop knowledge and awareness in care of residents who have a diagnosis of dementia and to create an understanding in behaviours.

Medication Awareness

Learn how to administer medication safely by understanding types of medication, common mistakes made when dispensing, and the legislations surrounding safe handling.

Infection Control

Gain a basic understanding of infection control. This will include transmission of infection, the chain of infection and how to minimise the risk of cross infection.

Person Centred Care

This training is designed for anyone who is involved in care, from the development, implementation or review of care plans. Techniques use a person-centred care plan approach.

Moving and Handling of People

This course is designed to provide the essential knowledge and understanding necessary for the safe process of moving people to prevent injury to themselves and patients. It also covers all the current legal requirements in handling people.

Equality and Diversity

This course is aimed to raise awareness of equality and diversity and encourage candidates to take a proactive approach in the workplace. Candidates will gain an awareness of discriminatory practice and gain knowledge on how to promote equal opportunities for all and recognise the value of diversity.

Manual Handling

Ensure that you know how to lift correctly, following best practice so that you do not hurt yourself during your everyday duties.

Communication Training

This training covers the knowledge and understanding needed so that you are able to communicate with your clients through a range of different methods.

Customer Service Skills

Customer service is at the heart of every business, so increase customer satisfaction by ensuring you (and your workforce) are well motivated and upskilled in this key area.

Allergen Awareness

This course introduces the learner to the rules and legislation around food labelling, with an emphasis on catering in relation to food allergies and allergenic ingredients.

PC clinics

One-to-one assistance with issues concerning technology, including computers, laptops, tablets, phones, printers, etc. Book an appointment with Ryan and learn how to correct problems yourself (please note: this is not a repair clinic for faulty equipment, but tackles software or user issues).

Office Services

We are able to offer a range of services to business and community members, including:

Photocopying – black and white or coloured printing, single or double-sided.
Scanning – scans of documents either saved on your memory stick or emailed to you.
Laminating – A6 to A4 laminating service

Services available to charities only

Payroll and bookkeeping service

Preparing accounts for submission to Independent Examiners or Accountants.

Community Consultations

Working with communities, to collect evidence of need and creating comprehensive reports suitable for funders.

PAT testing

Helping charities meet their legal obligation by testing portable electrical equipment, or offering training and hire of equipment for charities to undertake this work themselves.
